Here is the timeline of the Rise and Fall of Soleimani.
Soleimani Timeline:
- 1953 CIA creates coup of Imperial Iran
- 1955 Afghanistan starts growing opium
- 1975 Afghanistan takes over opium production from Golden Triangle after drought
- 1977 Israel sells missile tech to Iran in Project Flower
- 1978 Iranian(Shia) Revolution establishes the current government, and inspires Soleimani to do something bigger than himself.
- 1978 Taraki stops heroin production in Afghanistan
- 1979 Taraki assassinated and Amin(Pro-US) put in power starting CIA's Operation Cyclone
- 1979 Soleimani joins the IRGC
- 1979 Iran hostage situation at the US embassy in Iran. CIA itself confirmed its involvement. A movie was made about part of their involvement.
- 1979 Russia invades Afghanistan. Because of Pro-US Amin.
- 1980 Iraq- Iran War Soleimani fights in the war for its duration(1988). "I entered the [Iran-Iraq war] on a fifteen-day mission, and ended up staying until the end" -Soleimani
- 1980 Reagan campaign negotiates the holding of hostages until after the election with a promise of weapons sales for the Iran-Iraq War
- 1980 Bernie Sanders backs radicals in Iran holding US hostages
- 1981 Reagan takes office / Embassy hostages released same day
- 1981 Reagan assassination attempt
- 1981 Iran-Contra first arms sale made via Israel (The rest of the activity was between 1985-1986)
- 1982 Reagan and Pope meet
- 1982 Lebanon War with Hezbollah(Shia) fighters
- 1983 Beirut barracks bombing followed by Reagan pulling troops out of Lebanon. Soleimani is involved in Operation Dawn 4 (Its not a movie)
- 1983 Mujahadeen(Sunni) forms in Afghanistan to fight Russia
- 1983 Clinton governor of Arkansas(until 1992)
- 1984 Iran designated by US as state sponsor of terror
- 1984 Reagan reestablishes diplomatic ties with Vatican
- 1985 Iran-Contra sales pick back up because Reagan cant get Congress to approve sales
- 1988 Iran-Iraq War ends
- 1988 Russians pull out of Afghanistan
- 1988 Al Qaeda(Sunni) formed by Bin Laden
- 1989 Bush elected
- 1990 Desert Shield and Storm. Saudis choose US over Al Qaeda protection. Bin Laden is mad.
- 1991 USSR falls
- 1992 Bush advised by Barr pardons 6 involved in Iran-Contra
- 1993 Clinton elected
- 1993 Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia
- 1994 Taliban(Sunni) forms from Mujahadeen
- 1996 Webb breaks story on the CIA selling drugs in the US with Arkansas(1980s) as stop in CIA trafficking ring
- 1996 Taliban forms government in Afghanistan
- 1998 Soleimani appointed as the head of Quds(Jerusalem Brigade) Force. **Significant. At this point he controls factional Shia forces outside Iran. He will eventually direct Shia forces in Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and possibly more.
- 1998 Iran(Shia) masses forces on Afghan border over Taliban(Sunni) killing of Iranian diplomats
- 1999 Clinton does not kill Osama Bin Laden
- 2001 Bush 2 elected
- 2001 Taliban stops opium production in Afghanistan
- 2001 9/11
- 2001 Afghanistan invaded. Afghanistan is world leader in opium export.
- 2002 Bush State of the Union Address calls Iran part of the "Axis of Evil" ** This(allegedly) is the point where Iranian/ US relations went bad. Because they were actually getting better.
- 2002 Taliban becomes insurgency
- 2003 US-Iraq War
- 2003 Soleimani allows Al Qaeda to pass through and leaders to setup operations in Iran
- 2004 AL Qaeda evolves into ISIS(Sunni)[ ISIL and Daesh are used interchangeably] primarily operating in Iraq from Iran
- 2004 Iranian made EFP's(Explosive Formed Projectiles) shipped into Iraq used against US
- 2006 Israel Hezbollah(Shia) War(Lebanon) Soleimani gives account of fighting in Lebanon "33 day war"
- 2006 Bush Hot mic "Yo Blair"
- 2006 General McChrystal establishes a task force to hunt down Quds Forces fighters in Iraq. Possibly as a result of Soleimani's message the US command saying, "I hope you have been enjoying the peace and quiet in Baghdad. Ive been busy in Beirut!"
- 2006 Bush's ATF initiates Operation Wide Receiver (2006-2008)
- 2007 UN, US sanctions Soleimani due to terror ties. Soleimani is restricted to Iran by UN
- 2007 US captures 5 Iranians(almost Soleimani) in Erbil...
- 2007 ...9 days later Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq(Shia/ Iranian force) conduct Karbala raid
- 2008 Soleimani contacts Gen Petraeus via Iraqi President and tells him that he is in charge of the region. (3)
- 2009 Obama elected
- 2009 Hillary Clinton appointed Secretary of State
- 2009 Obama's ATF initiates Operation Fast and Furious (2009-2011)
- 2010 Soleimani negotiates a deal to keep pro-US leaders out of the government and installs pro-Iranian leaders(Maliki), and uses that government to siphon off oil money to fund the Quds force (1)
- 2010 James Biden(brother of Joe) joins HillStone as Executive VP
- 2011 Khamenei calls Soleimani the "living martyr"
- 2011 Obama bombs Libya as part of Operation Odyssey Dawn
- 2011 HillStone gets a $1.5bn housing contract in Iraq "David Richter, the president of Hill International, is reported as saying 'It really helps to have the brother of the vice president as a partner'." HillStone will go on to get 10 contracts by 2014
- 2011 Iran-Zetas plot
- 2011 Syrian Civil War starts and is still going on...

I have to add some commentary about this one. They start off the assault with the "commander" shooting an RPG at a random wall. The reporter has the audacity to call it "an American style assault" that is truly an ignorant statement. Then 5 min(according to narration) into the assault everyone is broken and confused. The push has devolved into a "Charlie Foxtrot". What made me LOL was at 13:05 a guy is scanning rooftops and if you look at his weapon you can notice there are NO SIGHTS. NONE. As you watch the video you can see why. Most of these guys dont aim...ever.
